Mykonos is well know as the Gay Greek Island and Mykonos attracts gay holiday makers from around the world.
This makes Mykonos Island very attractive to everyone as it offers an extremely chilled out holiday island. Mykonos island has not yet been spoilt and offers a quieter holiday than you may expect. This once poor Greek Island of Mykonos now boasts some very up market designer shops with prices to match. There are plenty of apartments and studios on Mykonos to choose from and no high rise apartments to spoil the charm of the island and shopping is still Greek village style. Mykonos dosn't have many gay bars and again proves an island to relax on as you won't find all night rave parties going on there! Although saying that there are open air bars and clubs on Mykonos that stay busy enough with party makers willing to party all night long! The narrow donkey streets are ablaze with colour, flowers are immaculately tended and are everywhere. There is a beautiful church at the harbour of Mykonos with a beautiful blue dome. The beaches of Mykonos are divided by obvious sections: for those who prefer to remain clad, go totally naked or are gay. The beaches are served by both buses and oftentimes by boat to the more inaccessible beaches. Please bear in mind that if you hire a car and take it off road, that the underneath may not be insured if you damage it on rocks or a rough road! A bike is a good idea to hire and if you decide to hire a bike on Mykonos, please insist on a helmet and go very carefully as off road is obviously dangerous and the roads can get slippy in the heat.
